Introduction to performances and activities

Sponsored by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and produced by The Japanese Classical Dance Association, the program offers students an opportunity to experience genuine performing arts first hand, and aims to “nurture children’s love for art and enrich their aesthetic senses.”

The program is composed of a workshop and a performance. The workshop is held about a month before the performance. The performance is organized to include an opportunity for all students to use their experience from the workshop and actively participate in the performance.

Professional nihon buyo dancers and stage staff will visit elementary and junior high schools across Japan, and transform the school gymnasium into a real theatre in only half a day!
